Post DIY Defi Control Unit + Boost Gauge

DIY DEFI Control Unit + Boost Gauge

Routing wires might be different for coupe and sedan's, but i am sure it's very similar.
Harness is exactly same; therefore wiring is same for control unit.

This is a how-to on a Defi Control Unit and Boost Gauge; Install was done in garage with basic hand tools; Slow and carefully.

Important
Please use your best judgement when trying to do the install. I will not be held responsible for damages done to your vehicle by using these instructions. You assume all liability. Know your limitations. With that said, on we go..

Item Needed

DEFI Boost Control Unit (Requirement for all BF Series Gauges)
DEFI Boost Gauge
Screw Driver/s
1/4" Insulated Ring
Circuit Tester
Drill Bits
Drill
Zip Ties

Control Unit

2.
Defi Control Unit Harness
Which consists of 4 wires.
All wires will be wired to Radio Harness; Exception of Black wire (Ground).
I used "Tap-In" connectors; which were provided by Defi.

Red wire is 12v constant.
Orange wire is 12v ignition on
White wire is small lamp/parking light on
Black is ground

Red to White/Red; Constant Power
White to Red/Black; Light-On Signal
Orange to Yellow/Red; ACC(Power)

Black is Ground; use 1/4" Insulated Ring and use screw/bolt to hold it in the place.

3.
Modifying Bottom Tray
You need to make 2 holes; 1/2" in diameter.
One hole for control unit harness, and other for gauge harness

Use drill and make 2 holes as shown below.

4.
Placing Control Unit
Use double-sided tape to hold control unit in the place.

Connect all plugs on the back of control unit.

Enjoy! and If you have any questions, post on the thread and I will try to answer asap.

Boost Gauge
1.
Placing Boost Sensor

The rubber hose attached to the sensor should be short as possible for more accurate reads.

2.
Wire paths

-Engine Bay-

Side-View

There is rubber Gromet hole; which is for OEM Fog light harness.
You basically run the wire through there into inside of the car.

-Inside of the car-

Wire directly goes into back of the Control Unit.

-Boost Gauge to Control unit-
Using Meter Wire.

You will see small feeding hole right by streering column.

-Check all connections, then start the car to see everything works-
1) Make sure brightness of Defi-Link meter illumination can be adjusted.
2) Make sure gauges perform the opening mode

I did it a little differently, but its an easy hookup... I just passed the wires for the sensors through the ECU grommet in the passenger side baseboard.
More or less the same thing.
