i just hooked up my vafc-ii and it wont come on. granted i still have the entire motor torn apart and none of the sensors the vafc-ii monitors are connected, it should still come on with power and ground right? i bought the unit used and now im thinking i may have bought a ****ed up controller. so what im asking is, will the unit come on even if its not getting information from any sensors? its completely wired into the ecu, but all the sensors are laying all over the place. i have an '05 lx and ive never seen it attempted on an '05 but im thinking it should work. any feedback is appreciated.

hook it up directly to the battery and ground it. see if it comes on.

ok the unit works. i used diagram h8a to hook it up and im thinking now the 05 pinout may be different. i put a test light on the power wire i have the unit on and it has power. maybe the ground is different. now i guess i need to search for an '05 ecu pinout and compare it to the pinout i have. i know a few wires changed from 01-03 to 04-05.

ok i cant find an '05 specific ecu pinout or one that says for sure its the same as the '05. ive heard a few wires are switched from the '01-'03 to '04-'05. as long as my power and ground are right, it should work. it worked off the battery but it wont work on the ecu. im puzzled. if anyone has any ideas or knows the difference between the ecus, please fill me in. ive searched and googled and cant find anything 100%.
