HX => EX?
ok well... i might get flamed for this but, i have a 2k1 HX (117hp V-Tec E - Lean Burn) and was wondering if there is anyway to make it like an EX (127hp V-Tec), maybe i have to change the fuel system to an EX's, head swap to an EX's, etc.... don't feel like doing any more research right now, i got homework do... so

Yeah, there is major swapping to be done, head, ecu,transaxle-gear ratio is way better, ever notice that 1st,2nd,3rd is ok, but 4th,5th sucks donkey *****,intake/exhaust manifolds, ect. So yeah just keep tha good gas milage and pimp it in the looks good class.
You would need to buy an Civic Ex to make your car run the way you want. The Hx's lean burn engine isn't like a real engine. It's kind of like the way a ten speed bicycle works! Keep pedaling buddy!!!
By the way I have an Ex and it's spectacular!

ok, for all the people flamin on the hx, your really stu.... nevermind. the vtec-E lean burn is the same as vtec-E just with different programming on the vtec and a more optimized system. think integra type R (USDM Spec) and integra type R (JDM Spec). plus it has different gear ratios. a problem not seen with the CVT which is a better system both for race and gas mileage.
2k1HXVTEC:
You seem to know your stuff about our engines...
To argue my side, my HX 5spd drives faster through 3rd gear than my ladies 2k1 LX.
No complaints from me... It's nice going 72mph in 2nd gear when you need a quick jump getting on the freeway.

I hear that- I have an 5-speed HX, and got up to 105mph in 3rd! I couldn't believe it.

The HX and the EX have the SAME EXACT engine,
It's the gear ratios, and the V-tec programing that are different.
Why would this produce lower HP, you ask.
It most likely doesn't, Honda under rates it, to upscale thier sporty EX
Have you seen the EX's that are coming outa the Dealerships with Factory Honda Decals Now !!
