i realized that headers on the lx are a little different then the ex and i was wondering if anyone has ever gotten a full cat back and then custom made a downpipe from the cat converter or even just taken the cat out? or any other creative solutions?

you can't take the cat out of a DX/LX because it is part of the header, you can buy any EX header(it will fit no problems) and then, do the custom cat-back and downpipe.

thats what i was talking about. puting in an ex header and then custom making the downpipe without the cat. or even with the cat somehow

yeah, it can be done. I have an 04 DX, and I have an HP Racing header with a megan downpipe and an EX HP Racing cat-back.

you can feel there's a difference, but it's not big deal at all.
