Oil Press Sending Unit? Question ....

Oil Press Sending Unit? Question ....
Hey all
Quick question .......
Is the oil pressure sending unit on our D17's the same threads and connections as the ones from older D15's and D16's?
I ask because I am going to put a Oil Pressure Gauge in the car but as some of you know the electical unit wont fit on the back of the block because of the intake mani. so I am going to get a braided line made so I can mount the new sending unit on the firewall and this way I dont need to take the original unit out of the car to have the line made.
