it means that you cant control your ipod through your sound system, so when you want to change a song you have to hit next on your ipod, of course you can do the volume change on the HU but you cant change songs, the black wire that plugs into the headphone jack doesnt come with it but when you look that PIE part up it shows that wire in the recommended parts or something like that
