town fair tire - alignment sux

what's up...well i have lowered my car months ago and have been putting off the alignment. It's been getting progressively worse, so I called TFT and they said they were slow today (it was snowing) and they could do it as soon as I could get it to them. So.....I go to pick it up a bit later and ask for the printout of the alignment spec's. "I don't think he printed it out" is what I got. I say well, you don't think, or he didn't print it out. Basically he didn't print it out, which make me very suspicious. (just paid $70) to get the alignment. So i say alright, and go to my car. Well, the bitch pulls way left......I just call to re-schedule and demand a print out this time. Should I bring in spec's from here, or just let them try again?

Thanks - nothing's easy!!

they should have alignment specs in there computer system. everyshop I have ever been to has all the specs to all cars.

Also you should stay there and watch while they do the alignment. I always watch when they do mine.

I'll be the first to admit i sometimes forget to hit the print button when im doing alignments. But for the most part i prolly print about 99%. And prolly 50% never make it to the customer when they come to get the car But like stated if you suspect that they may be screwing you. Then stay and watch them even if from a distance ( we dont allow customers in the shop unless they have been invited.... haha that RARELY happens). And BTW did you have any other work done to the car... like a rotation...... and was it pulling before the alignment?

it actually wasn't pulling too hard, there was a bad vibration and it's still there. I think I may need a wheel bearing though, not sure what to do. As far as watching them, the shop is nowhere near where you wait for your car, can't see crap.....

if you've put off the alignment for such a long time, its possible that your tires are unevenly worn out. this will cause your car to drift in different directions despite having an alignment...

yeah, I know it would, but the tires are not too bad, it's the front that's the issue...and although I've put it off, the steering wheel was dead center with the car going straight........I'd hate to have to do a wheel bearing, but looks like thats the case. Also...I swapped out my front 17's which I just took off recently and the car was fine w/ them (haven't been on since lowered)
and it did the same thing, so I don't think it's the tires

UPDATED - Town Fair Tire REALLY SUCKS

Well, I did the wheel bearing and brought the car back to get re-aligned.
I tell them I want the print out this time and they say no problem.
About an hour later, I go back and the car's not done yet. I wait 15 mins, and the kid comes in w/ papers and my keys, says I'm all set. I drive away and I'm reading the paperwork. The car is almost okay, but still pulls, to the left this time. Some of the "before" spec's were in the red, and as I look deeper into the print out, the "after" spec's are also in the red, some sides not changing at all. I'm like WTF, and I look on the bottom and he writes in "front camber bolts frozen" and "rear camber cannot be adjusted".....this is complete bs. first off, he told me it was "all set" and secondly, I just did the wheel bearing last saturday, so the front bolts are NOT frozen, and the rear has the SPC kit as well, so it CAN be adjusted. I'm going to write a letter to TFT and I've already put in a dispute w/ the cc company..............drama......

Well - gotta give credit when it's due....just got off the phone w/ customer service and they're going to credit me the 69$ for the alignment. I'll be happy once the check comes in, but I believe them - D
