fuel consumption question again
Hey Guys,
Need your help & thoughts on the following, last summer I installed an Injen SRI with the heatshield on my civic EX 01-03 MT
Before that I got up to 400 miles for a full tank of gas & I was doing 50% of highway driving & 50% of urban driving, since I installed the SRI I got up to 350 miles only which is a massive difference
I had a look at the DIY for the reset of the FI ECU but couldn’t find it, the only 7.5 amp fuse are found are for something else or it’s a spare one, I even talked to my Honda dealer who said that’s not possible, it’s the main ECU which is regulating the FI & the car will learn on its own after the change
Anyway, then last December my gf crashed the car, got the whole front left damaged (front suspension replaced, A/C redone, bodywork to be redone), I didn’t use the car for 2 months, then when I had it back, I drove quite a lot as I went back to france (done ~1200 miles in 2 weeks), then I came back 2 weeks ago & so far it looks like a full tank of gas will only last 250 miles (at the mo, I got half of the tank full & got 130 miles)
Nothing special happened for the last few days, there’s no leak, the SRI is still properly fitted
Should I try removing the heatshield?
Ask Honda to make a reset of the main ECU?
Any suggestions???
Thanks for your comments guys

Re: fuel consumption question again
im only getting like 475-500km on a tank with me 2004 Civic 4 Door DX. I put in an air intake and im looking for a ECU reset becasue i was told to give that a try becasue for a civic that is very low. My driving is 65% high way and 35% city and im a very calm driver and its a family car other then a subwoofer i dont have many other mods.
Anyone know of how and where i can get ahold of ECU reset DIY?

Re: fuel consumption question again
ecu adjusts itself after driving through a tank of gas. ecu reset is only needed if you pulled off the throttle body to clean or something. but you can try it if you want, just drive the car til its warmed up, then shut off and pop the hood. either disconnect battery cable or pull out FI ECU fuse (see owners manual), then put back and start car. let it idle 10 mins without pressing the gas or using any accessories like lights, fan, etc. then turn car off. turn back on and go for a drive like you normally would. thats it.
