HEADER?
The new HP header are "long tube", then there are 4-1, 4-2-1,one peice, two peice, with a cat with out a cat and more and more! I've done a search, and didn't really come up with anything...So here is my question I'm not really worried about being "leagal"or cost, all I want to know is what type of header will be the best for true HP, torque, and top end gains? DC, HP, OBX? PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU!

If you aren't worried about anything get the HP Header...just know that 2 or so people have posted here saying it didn't fit that well and some minor modifications were needed.
They had to pull the egnine apart......no, seriously, they had to do something like tweak the motor mounts.
That's all I know....I had planned on getting the HP header, but I will wait now after what I heard and see which other
headers come out that replace the cat, because you know someone else will eventually.....!!

<< I think you would also have to cut off the downpipe including the cat then weld on the new header at the bottom. >>
No its all bolts...now cutting needed. The cat is wele d (sp?) onto the lower section of the header, but after the cat are bolts that attach it to the rest of the exhaust. The new HP Header is one piece...the cat and header are all on one pipe..

4-1 headers will give you the most power but it will be at the top of the rpm band. You basically lose some power down low and gain some up high. It's good for racing but not for the daily commute.
Somebody did post that they installed the hp header/cat combo and had some issues with the engine mount hitting the outside tube of the header. Kinda turned me off to it because I really don't want to mess with the engine mounts!

The motor mount he was refering to...from what he indicated.....was non- load bearing...so it just must be a more stabilizer mount....plus he indicated that it wasn't a major modification....remember having the right tools, mechanical knowledge, and a lift for this mod would greatly reduce overall aggrevation..Peace!
