Question about Hondabond
First noted difference.... a tube of Hondabond from Acura is $19.XX
A tube from Honda is $13.XX
Note to self, don't buy parts from acura.
Anyways... the back of it says the surface layer sets in 60 minutes, sets to rubber-like in 15-16 hrs, and fully cures in 3 days. So, ummmm, does that mean don't drive the car for 3 days after dropping the oil pan? It gives the specs of 77F and 50% humidity and that its cured by reaction with atmospheric moisture.... so I take it a hair dryer would accelerate this? And does anyone know if the "atmospheric moisture reaction" is sped up my more or less humidity?

What I can tell you when I installed my new oil pan was first off honda bond is a messy *** sealant. it doesnt come out of the tube as nicley as I would have liked. I got **** everywhere. But I waited about an hour to 2 hours before I added oil to the pan after I installed it. and it worked out just fine. I had a small leak from where I didnt add enough hondabond, but sealed it up with some more.
The manaul says when putting it on the pan to install it within 4 minutes, otherwise you need to redo it. It also says to use 2 layers, each 4 MM beads. it also says you can add oil 30 minutes after installing it.
I am not sure about all the other stuff you asked, so I gave it to you in my explanation. Hope it helps.

not everyone has the luxury of taking a civic out for 3+ days. When it comes to civics, they usually aren't the "2nd" vehicle.

Normaly to get higher temps you lower the moisture level, so cure time say pretty much the same.
An engineer at one of the larger companies told me they put that (temp/humidity) on there so idiots don't use it below freezing or in the rain!
