Hey Pinoyjdmr what brand RSX hood dampers did you use on your car. I've been wanting to do this for a while but no one makes them for our cars. Stupid question, would it be ok to use them with a carbon fiber hood. Thanks.

dont use em with a cf hood.
I used the teins hood dampers and it actsually ok to use it on carbon fiber hoods cause thats wat I have on right now but like wat I said jus be carefull when you lift up your hood cause it's gas shocks and theres a slight fast reaction on the damper so good luck and jus be carefull oh yeah if your running the CF hood take your time putting it down....

I'm gonna bring thid back..
I had them installed on my car the week they came out for the DC5. They didn't fit right, and the area near the windshield was popped up slightly.. but enough to look ugly and tick me off. After fiddling with it for a couple of weeks I finally got one side to lay even, but the other side was still popped up slightly. I uninstalled, reinstalled, changed positions and all and they never worked right, so I may just may have had a defective batch or something, but I coulden't get mine working right. BUT they do bolt right on. =)

I've got an uncle who is a firefighter, he informs me that one occasion, in event of a fire, hood shocke essentially act like little pneumatic bullets and that if/when they get hot enough the rod will shoot right through the chasis. Apparantly they've altered the angle/design of them of late, but supposedly it was quite common in a lot of domestics a while back..
