Question about neons

I was planning on installing some neons under my seats pretty soon and wanted to wire them into the back of the cig lighter. I did a search and understand all of the wiring but someone had posted that the console with the cig lighter in it just pops right out but I havent had any luck popping it out. I was just hoping I could get some help with removing that to get to the back of the cig lighter. Thanks

Personally I think that you are better off wiring it somewhere on a open fuse terminal. I never liked hooking anything up to those wires, except for a radar detector. I just tried popping mine out but like you said it doesn't budge. you might have to take it all apart.

I understand what you need to do to wire it to the backk of the cig lighter is the only reason I want to do it that way. If I new how to wire it to an open fuse terminal I would do it that way. So maybe if I could get a DIY to wire it to the fuse box that would be helpful.

When you say cig lighter console, do you mean the whole big piece that the cig lighter is located in or just the cig lighter itself pops out.

check the thread for head unit (radio) removal. the part you wish to remove is one of the steps to switch cd playes. to do it the right way you disassmble the entire center console . afterthat is removed you can get behind that cig lighter panal and push it out. if your to lazy to do it the right way like me, take a small flat head screw and pry @ the corners with a rag inbetween the screw driver and all the plastic that doesn't come out.if you put a little pull and push into it she'll pop right out real quick just line up and push for the finally . the cig lighter is just a pull out harnes to make the job easier. if you dont put the rag under the screw driver you get ugly little notches all over your dash, lime me

good luck

it was hard for me to pop off but what i did was put a big A$$ screw driver (flathead) and put it behind the center peice from the front under the dash and push that out while pullin with ur fingers in the hole ( the removable piece right next to the cig lighter LOL for those who thought about it yall are perverts LOL) and push and pull HARD and it should pop off
