I do searched on an extensive thread made by gearbox and just want opinions for the ones that have it on their vics, if it's worth it or if it's just too risky because of idling problems. By the way, I live in Puerto Rico and the typical temeperature here is over 85 degrees. Thanks!!

some ppl say "go for it" some ppl say dont bother..... I would only do it if it's 1 of the last resort to squeeze some "power" out of the Civic. And b/c you live in PR, doesnt mean it wont give you idling problems on some days.

If I do this, I will connect the in hose to the beginning of the out hose in the back of the motor, is this the best way to do this? Also, I'm I able to feel a difference if I bypass it?, cause the temperature here rises almost to 95 degrees on summer.

calm down man, its only been an hour since you posted this thread. Give gearbox some time, otherwise PM or email him. he isnt on the web every 5 seconds to check to see who needs him to respond to a thread.

Seguro, chequeate eso y ponlo para atras y me avisas, pero para mi que es eso pq gearbox had the same problem, he put the hoses back in and his problems were resolved, it's better to leave the throttle with the hoses connected so it does'nt affect your idle. Hazlo y me avisas.
here's a simplified explanation on temperature. with every 1 degree drop, you gain 1% more hp.. doesn't sound like a lot but the TB bypass will lower your underhood temp 50 degrees (estimate, temp gauge goes down 1/8). so that would work out to a 5% increase in hp. so roughly 6 hp for the EX model.
The idle will be rough after cold starts (sitting overnight for a longer period of time) and stay around 1-1.5k but every other start that day (from errands, etc.) should be normal if not slightly better.
Also, your car takes 2x longer to heat up so if you live in a cold climate, accomodate for that (this a general for other people).
Hope I helped.

That doesn't make any sense to me. 50 degrees? thats how much a cryO2 liquid cooling kit will do. At most the bypass will lower intake air temp by 1-2 degrees, which makes no difference. This was already proven with thermodynamic equations considering air flow and surface area of the throttle body. if you want a throttle body mod, goto www.maxbore.com at least then you'll actually have more air coming in.

ya with my auto, the gears are a tad longer which is good cause i hated how it would shift when i still wanted to stay in gear. Much faster (instant) throttle response since there is no space between the tb lever and throttle lever. works great with the stock intake manifold (the IM is actually slightly larger than the stock tb so now they match perfectly) and idle is perfect after doing the idle relearn/ecu reset. You just have to trim the stock rubber piece that connects the air intake to throttle body.

and if you send yours in, take apart the IAC valve (where the coolant hoses go) and clean it up so that there's no more carbon in it. this will make the warmup idle alot smoother.

sweet, I'm thinking on doing that with another member of this site also from PR, HiVtec, If I do it, I'll let you know, mine's a manual, so let's see.

if you can take the intake off, the throttle body is very easy to remove. unplug all the sensors, depressurize cooling system by removing radiator cap and remove coolant hoses, detatch throttle and cruise cables, unscrew the four bolts/nuts, and pull it off. you'll need a new tb/im gasket and new iac gasket if you take it apart.
