Removing Decals?
Removing Decals?
Is there any way you can remove the Honda, Civic and dealer decals without ruining the paint? Any ideas? I'm looking for a cleaner look and I refuse to advertise for the dealer.

http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=155287, you can use a hairdryer too to warm up the adhesive to make it easier to come off, and i used WD40 to get off the excess adhesive on the car

i was watching one of those car shows and they were showing how to remove decals. They warmed it up first, then used fishing line inbetween the decal and the car to break the connection, then you just need to remove the rest of the adhesive, dont use too much goop gone and dont rub too hard because it can take off your clear coat. Make sure to clean it with warm water when you finish.

i just used a hair dryer to warm it up, just guess on how long, dont do it too long or it will fvck up the paint, peel it off with a flathead screwdriver and a towel over the tip slowly and use goo gone when u need it, and use it at the end when the decal is removed to wipe off the excess glue

i like the let the car warm up in sun light, then use hair dryer on warm as needed, use fishinline to slowly remove badge and adhesive, the use goo gone to remove residue, if needed wd40 can help slide the adhesive off as well. the clean the hell out of the area, thro some wax or polish on it to protect it and your done, method to do it.
i used dental floss then goo gone on a rag and it did remove some of my clear coat, its not as shiny where the badges were and u can still tell they were there when in the RIGHT light (you can see CIVIC and EX outlined in duller paint) its really a bitch to get that **** off and i gues i probably scrubbed pretty hard, but its kinda lame that it came off. no one notices but me, and the trunk has to be open at about a 45 degree angle on a sunny day to see the scuffage. it was worth it. haha
I am trying to take off the i-vtec stickers on the side of my Si. The one came off very easily with a hair dryer. But the other side is kicking my a$$. I can get a little bit of it started but then it just rips. I can use the hair dryer on it but then its too soft and rips again. I got half of it off, now when I try to get the rest it just keeps ripping off in tiny little pieces. Anyone have any tricks or ideas to take these decals off. If not I guess I'll just keep going way I am now with taking it off piece by little piece. BTW like that idea ^^ with the fishing line, gonna try that to take the Civic and Si badges off in the back.
