Washer LEDS - please help - basic questions

I was wondering if anyone could help me with some basic questions I have
regarding the led washer diy install. This will be the first addition to my car and I want to get it right, since I have no electrical knowledge prior to reviewing the washer diy.

I am using a 12V - 16 AMP illuminated rocker switch with 3 prongs and a 16 gauge power wire to hook up the leds.

1. What size fuse do I use in the fuse holder for the rocker switch to light up also? 5 amps? 10 amps? (Does the switch being 16 amps have anything to do with it???)

2. Where exactly is the hole in the firewall on the driver side?
Under the steering column, right? Do you need to remove car pieces to see it? Can't seem to find it.

3. One prong on the switch goes to leds. One prong on the switch goes to the the battery....What is the third prong on my switch used for? Can I just leave it blank?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Does your switch have a light inside it? if so that is what one of the prongs is for. or it might be a ground. the hole is right next to the steering column under the dash. You will have to take out the grey cover that covers the fuses and stuff under the dash to find the gromet that is your hole in the dash. I don' t know what size fuse to tell you to use other than a 20-amp. That would probably be the easiest becsuse I believe that the switch is going to try to pull 16 amps even if you aren't using that much juice. I have a 30-amp switch and am using a 30-amp fuse.

if your switch doesn't have a light on it, just play with the hookups until it works.

best of luck.

Thanks for all the help...

The switch does has a light inside it. The prongs are labeled (from top to bottom) : Earth, Load, Supply.
Where would I hook the 3rd prong to for the switch to illuminate....the battery? thanks
