Hks Sld
it's been 2 years since i started tring to get rid of that pesky speed limmiter.
i've tried cutting wires, tricking sensors, buying products, nothing works. i purchased an APEX'i RSM, because it was supposta alevate this pest. no such luck. what a waste if $100. i posted a thread on this, but no one replied. http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...&highlight=rsm So i came across this product; HKS SLD. has anyone installed this product? does it work? i don't want to waste another $100 on useless electronics. i'm not saying the RSM is useless, but the only reason i bought it is to kill that speed killer.....anyone use the HKS SLD with sucsess??!!??
thanks.................................

If your car won't go over 180km/h its either that you're hitting the rev limiter or your car simply doesn't have enough power to do so. Search for threads, several people have broken 180km/h, myself included.

I believe a member on her called hksusa about that product, and they told him that they have no idea if it will work on the 7thgen. so you'd be risking another chance by buying this.

this has been covered many many times, all civic have a limiter, most autos are at 112, i think it's different on an ex, up to 125 i think, 5 speed are all n the 120s range...as far as i know, i have an auto, so i dont care about 5 speeds enough to look into the limiter on those.

Thats crazy, I had a 2003 Civic Si (Canadian Si, to the rest of the world an EX), same D17 as all of you, -automatic-, top speed on a regular road 185km/h or so, with no sudden rev drop, just equilibrium (it never made it to the limiter) between air resistance and engine output, the car just couldn't -go- any faster w. the A/T gearing. My car -has- gone over 200km/h, but that -was- at sea level and -was- with a tail wind, there were other people in the car w. me, so it wasn't a desert-induced hallucination if thats what you're thinking
I've never heard of a 'speed limiter' on the 7th gen only a rev limiter. Maybe I'm missing something.

Done it a couple times so I'm pretty sure it's around the 117's...

For you all saying that you've gone like 130 and such, you most likley haven't, since our speedometers are HIGHLY unacturate at those high speeds (even more so if you have differn't sizes rims/tires than stock). Also the HKS SLD does not work for our car, a member tried it, called HKS usa who for normal reasons can't provide support, and it didn't work. Don't bother buying it, end of story. And for the rest of you, don't turn this thread into a speed limiter fight thread, there are plenty of those around for you to ***** up.
