Generally, DIY intakes don't perform as good as the "real" ones...

yeah but the people that dont have the money for a "real"one would like to have half the hp gain for 1/4 the price of a real one.just untill they have the money to get a real one . u never know some people with a short ram might just like the idea of making it into a cold air for just a few bucks more

Half of almost nothing is right. If you are going to DIY, it will most likely be an aesthetic upgrade only...withOUT a warranty. IMO, $175.00 for a brand new Injen CAI that bolts on in 30 minutes is a better deal. If you decide to DIY, good luck and post pics!!!

Who cares if you do either...what, do you really think that wasting $175 on something that doesn't do a damn thing to improve the performance or your ride? Oh I'm sorry, it might give you 2-3 horsies. You're better off getting some stickers, I heard that a Mugen sticker placed properly on your window, will give you a 55+ hp increase at the wheels.

You're gonna need some WET lotion for that DIY kid, unless you like it prison-style.
