Hood light attached to OEM alarm
I've read a few times that people don't like the OEM alarm since it can be killed by opening the hood and cutting the battery (the hood isn't attached to the OEM alarm). If you wire a light switch under the hood to the trunk light circuit or interior light circuit will opening the hood kick off the alarm and act as cheap protection? I'm thinking of using a mercury switch to keep it simple. Anyone try this approach or wire a switch to the hood for the alarm?

Barkat,
I think my old car had a hood light that used a mercury switch. I was thinking it would slosh around too but it was stock on my old Ford. I haven't really spent too much time to look into it. There probably is a better solution and I'm open to ideas.
DarkCivic,
I am from Worcester, MA. I know that there are a number of people on this site (Grey and others) who go to the local technical college, WPI.

Rock-on man! I grew up on Longmeadow Ave, right off of Clark St. Good to hear from another Worcesterite- I know Grey's from Shrewsbury too. You guys should get together for a Wormtown meet.
