hmm, have you tried pulling it off? it might just pop off from the diagram you have shown... I dont see any screws that could be holding it in except your license plate light mounts.

Well i ordered a new piece to color match my car, I have a dx so it is black right now. But the new piece has 3 screw and 2 snap things, i can figure it out. all the screws and snaps slide in to locks but they are all going different ways, either to the left or the right? Maybe i can just drill holes in the one on my car and cut it off?
I replaced mine too
there are 3 nuts (#20 in the diagram) that you need to take off from the inside of the trunk.

my pic shows where the 3 bolts are
after that the molding will still hold to the trunk lid by 2 white clips. put your fingertips where the licenseplate lights are and pull until the molding pops off (pull just on the black molding, not the licenseplate bulbs protector).

Dont yank off the molding too hard, because that could cause damage your trunk lid.
The best way is to have the trunk lid all the way up, and kneel or tilt yourself to unscrew the nuts. I forgot the size ther were, but i think they're the same nuts that hold the 2door taillamps onto the car. Have a good look underneath the lid before, so you know where it is. the nuts are in the openings, in between the frame structures of the trunklid.

yup... unscrew the 3 nuts from the back, unplug the sockets for the licence plate light and then pop them out by pushing on the backside of the molding, don't pull it from the outside... you'll break something.

Where did you find this? I have searched the internet high and low, and a lot of Honda dealers. Can you point me to a website?

Re: How to remove trunk molding
what exactly are you looking for, painted trunk trim? the EX coupes all come painted so if you have a DX coupe just order the painted part for the EX. if you have sedan and dont want the chrome, they have painted ones for 04-05 sedan but only in certain colors. coupe and sedan moldings are NOT interchangeable.
