Cat Converter

Has anyone hollowed out their cat? I was talking to someone and they said that it would cause the exhaust to be louder without and it wouldn't void your warranty, depending on where you live.

Would anyone do this?

APC has a header out that comes with a highflow cat.....u mit be able to get just the cat..i wouldn't hallow it

If you want a loud car, just take off the resonator and muffler.

Don't do it if you want to keep low end power. Without it you will actually hurt your power.

I agree....don't mess with your catalytic converter. Replace it with a high-flow one, but otherwise leave that environmental-friendly tube alone.

Don't do it if you want to keep low end power. Without it you will actually hurt your power. --->means take off the cat converter or the resanator and the muffler???

I wasn't going to do it, I was wondering about it for a friend, he has a 2001 eclipse gt and he bought a crappy muffler and tip so it sounds like **** and now he's thinking of ways to make his louder, I keep telling him to just buy a whole exhaust system but he won't listen to me.

instead of going through all that trouble why dont u just buy a high flow cat that wat i did on my lx when i put my dc sports headers on and its running like a champ

I have had car without cat converters and they get pretty loud specially when they are under load?. My car has it on and it's really loud, I can't imagine how loud it would be without it![IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/IMG]

tell him to go with a new exhaust
