braking noise

When I break I hear this noise like a "TOK" at the end of my braking... I change my break pads resently .. anyone has an idea what it is? its a 2001 civic btw

yeah i have the same problem. are ur rotors warped cuz mine are and i recently had my pads changed and didn't think to get them machined....

hmmm I dont think they are warped. I mean if they were it would show right?

if they were warped u'd feel vibrations of the steering wheel when u brake and yes mostly likely ur rotors are warped cuz u really suppose to machine them every time u change ur pads

very true. if you changed your pads yourself take the rotors to a shop. they will machine them for you for like ten bucks each rotor. i did it for my buick. i don't have a brake lathe but i knew how to work one, so take your rotors off and go in another car and get them cut. then it should be smooth ridin.

Could be that the brake calipar is slipping and hitting something... its a common problem so your dealer should fix it for free. You know if iits this problem if it only occurs during changes in direction on the first brake.

Other than that, I seem to have this problem where that "TOK" sound comes when i push the brake past a certain point...
