01-03 coupe taillight trick
idk if it has been asked/done already but i had an idea of swapping the horseshoe taillight on the coupes and switching the bulb sockets/bulbs with the turn signals.

meaning, the top signal light will be the parking light/brake light while the horse shoe is going to be the signal light.

04+ coupe tails are similar and maybe it might look good for those who are tired of the lame 01-03 coupe tails

you should be able to figure something out. i've seen a civic around here that has the backup light as their turn signal !!!?!!!

I've got it done on my civic. Didn't bother with rewiring, just used needlenose pliers and twisted the tabs on the small light hole to fit the big bulb through it. Then i wrapped it with duct tape to make sure it would stay and be sealed.

Its been done a lot in So-Cal. I think CivicSouldja and XtremeJM were like the first ones to do it. Ive been thinking of doing it as well, but i havent decided yet.

I'll do a write up tomorrow, allows you to keep everything stock except you need another set of 7443 bulbs and maybe 1.2feet of 16 or 18 gauge wire.

That sounds sweet. But I have to admit, I like the horseshoe lights alot better than the 04 lights.

The light output is normal... lights up just like it would if I never swapped them around.

Ya one of the bulbs are bigger and won't fit in the other hole. What you have to do is make the hole bigger by breaking off those 4 little locking tabs with a wrench/pliers and the bulb should fit right in.
If I get around to it I'll do up a DIY w/pics... I got an extra set of tails at my parents house.

lol newyoricancivic. way offtopic but the si seats can work on the civic coupes. im sure you would need other pieces and not just a direct bolt on?


back to topic, so i can just swap out the bulbs and tape it as temporary? if i like it, ill do it the right way and rewire it. but im gonna see how it looks at night and whatnot

Lame 01-03 coupe tails!!!??? Dude IMO the 01-03 coupe tails are unique!! the 04+ are just like everyother car out there now...stock rice I wouldnt change ANYTHING on my tails!

Yea I love my 01+ tails, IMO the 04+ look too similar to altezzas.
