I got a problem with my new car audio set up. When I am driving the car my 4 channel amp will just start to cut off, the sound get really low and gargled but comes right back on again after about 5 sec. It does it every 3 to 8 mins. I have a 4 gauge wire coming from the battery to the distribution block. The 4 gauge runs to the trunk and splits there to two 8 gauge wires one goes to the 4 channel and the other to the 2 channel. I have tired hooking up the ground to a bolt under the back seats, the one on the passenger side that hold the back side panel in. I have also tired hooking it up to were the spear tire bolts up. I have taken all the paint off both places so it is just the metal. Both amps ground to the same place. The ground wire is 8 gauge. I have replaced the battery with an optima battery and replaced the 4 channel amp. They sys works fine as long as the car is not moving, I can seat in my drive way with the motor running all day and it never cuts out and can even rev the motor no problem but as soon as I start moving it will start to cut out. If I just run the 2 channel amp and run the speakers off the radio it works fine. Any one has any clue what could be wrong?

The amp is probaly overheating and shutting down. Once it cools a bit it starts right back up. My fosgate amp does that when I bump it too much. More so when it's hot outside. I need to add a auxilary fan to help cool it down. I was thinking of using a pc chip fan and mounting it behind the amp to extract the heat.

If it was over heating i would have the problem even if the car was not running or moving. I only have the problem when i am driving the car. It plays fine as long as the car is not moving.
