New cat..loud and o2 went boom HELP

Saturday morning I had a shop hook up an ex cat/dp and header to my dx, but instead of extending the o2 sensors (which I was charged for) they cat the pipe and moved the cat up.. it worked ok except for what sounds like backpressure and occasional poping at low and sometimes high rpms.. I reset the ecu and then drove for a while, however I gunned it in 1st (from a driveway) to make a light and I think it made my o2 sensor pop.. (check engine light is on)

WHAT CAN IT BE?

It sounds like there is a pressure build up and it doesn't flow straight through the tiny cat hole from the piping.. of course the cat might be bad..

Anything helps!

doubt your o2 sensor is bad, those things are tanks and dont break unless droped or ran in a pipe with some serious exhaust problems. I would take it back to the shop and ask them what they think. You should do it the right way and extend the o2 wires. Its 4 wires and you can do it your self.

I will be taking it on sat orn again.. they did extend the wire a bit it looks like, but they moved it up at least a few inches, for some reason it makes this wierd pop sound everytime I shift into a new gear from a moderate-high rpm, and anytime I go over a bump

It also sounds like it is gargling water from 72-78 primarily.. and just particular rpms in certain gears..

Yeah, I hear the normal poping and backfire.. but it like 'rattles' .. like tink-tink-tink--tink tink--tink... it sounds like at certian rpms it doesn't have the right velocity or something and it hit some part of the cat makes the poping sounds and the flows fine.. I know normal backfiring and that's not it..lol... I'm just not sure.. but we will see.. I have a feeling they just played with it's geometry..

It sounds like a moving part hitting a non-moving part, kinda like when your exhuast taps on you bumper sometimes, but not others.. it's a diff sound altogether from the exhuast note and it comes dirrectly from under the shifter (Cat location).. it's like braum-bum..dat da dat.. dund dun dun
it's really funky,.. any clues?
