Struts

Has anyone had any problems with their struts? I took my car to my dealership today because something was vibrating under my feet and they said that our 2k1's had some problems with the struts but not enough to do a recall. Anyways, they had to order me a completely different kind of strut but I get it for free so it's cool, I'm just glad it's finally getting fixed. Just wondering if anyone else had these problems.

No probs here....yet. But if I encounter any, I'll be damned if I don't take my car back to Honda demanding a functional freakin' suspension system. That sucks dude, sorry to hear about that. At least they're taking care of it though. Good luck.

no midas most likely does not have our STRUT........and if they could get it it'd probably be real spendy.....
and yes you could blow your strut w/ lowering springs.......it depends how low you go and how many pot holes you hit.....

I didn't lower my car though, I haven't done anything to the suspension so I don't know what the deal is. It rained here yesterday after they supposedly fixed and it's still doing it so I have to take it back today and they'll probably have to ship it off somewhere, all I know is that they better give me a damn loaner car for the time being or I'll be pissed. They've already screwed me over enough with this whole thing.

Actually, I had my springs instaled by Honda and I go in today to see if I have infact blown the strut. They haven't given me any indication that they won't replace it.
I think I may just break down and get the Koni's.

Hey Pharoh: I live in Ottawa. Which Honda dealer installed your springs for you? I didn't know that they would actually install aftermarket stuff for you. Are your suspension components still under warranty even with the new springs?

Hey Ronin,
My Brother-in-law is the sales manager for Lallier Honda in Hull. They just fix it anyway, regardless of the problem as long as the warranty hasn't expired.
Turns out the strut didn't blow. The spring slipped out of place. They replaced the boots on both fronts and lubed them. All is well now.
I'm looking into getting those Koni inserts but they're apparantly hard to come by in Canada.

You'll probably hear a knock when you steer the car into a parking space (for example), if the car is lowered you might here metal to metal contact going over bumps on one side of the car.
At least these were symptoms my car showed.
