Guys
Has anyone tried using a drop-in K&N Air Filter? Any performance increase that justifies the price?
I'm thinking of dropping in one of those for my 2004 1.7 Civic.
Appreciate your feedback.

man...
this topic...........a lot of discussion back then....
i'm still end up using the filter though........
i don't exactly believe the issue.....i think it should be fine as long you don't mess up the oil on the filter...
and about the filtering power, the K&N filter is indeed suppose to allow more air flow into the engine.......which should explain why the filtering power probably lower than the OEM...however, that's the good thing about K&N, whic is it's unique filtering system with that oil on the filter..
from what i remember back then....gearbox suggest using NAPA gold filter.....or the OEM Honda filter....
if ur filter still new....then don't bother....use it till 10K miles or more...than u prolly should start thingking about replacing them...(even though it says to re-use them)

Rep Power: 0 I got 58k on my 02 and I like the style of the stock intake. I was thinking about doing the drop-in, but now I'm not so sure. What are the risks of using it?

Ok,
from Gearbox's thread, the K&N filter has less filtering capacity.
Knowing that it won't increase hp neither, there is basically no reason to get it at all.
I guess the only good point is that it is reusable.
