Well lemme just give you the blunt, un-sugar coated version. If you don't know what you're doing, then don't touch the motor. If you don't understand what happens if the valves come out of time, then you shouldn't be anywhere near the inside of the head. Let me give you a hint... "Hello Mr. Valve, my name is Mr. Piston. I will be occupying this space now."

"I got custom made(don't ask a lot of details about it, not gonna tell)" well i'll let you know something i have a reground cam from crower and you know what it isn't that much more aggressive than stock because the stock cam can only be reground so much before it's useless and makes your car run like **** so i'm sure yours isn't that much different. oh and i also have a pnp head and to be honest with it all i only got maybe 15 hp from it all running n/a, but with nitrous well that's a little different and i'm sure the same could be said about the turbo guys.

stop rippin on the guy for just entertaining a question. Booba is correct and well for the un sugar coated version that boilerman said, thats very true. Valves will beat the pistons to bitsun less you have forged internals then you got a big mess
dang u ask for advice then u don't wanna share the info with us? this is supposed to be a learning sight so we can all enjoy our cars. you are making this more than what it has to be, by blackening out your order form, so what u have a cam who cares. your just like a little boy who doesn't wanna share his candy with the rest of the kids.
Boom goes the dynomite.
Anyway, yes if u dont know how to change a cam, DONT CHANGE IT. get a friend that knows how to do it help u. It isnt that hard, but theres A LOT u can **** up if u dont know wat ur doing.

lol don't worry when you mess up...a new engine on ebay is only $600. I'm assuming you also bought a cam gear to adjust the timing. Which one did you end up getting, the aem 3-bolt that falls apart or the 5-bolt that's still on backorder? Sounds like you have no clue what you're doing. Throwing a cam in your engine isn't gonna magically give you more power.
lol.. not regrinded gearbox.. if YOU knew anything about the cam for our car you could see the difference. Also.. I do have the 5 bolt cam I got it when it first came out. You've been complaining about it being backordered for months now, why dont you just find a performance shop that knows what there doing to order it for you..

First off the relation to cam and piston is ultra crutcial. When you set the bottom end to top dead its really easy turn the motor over till the #1 piston is all the way up boooom top dead. You also have to bench set the valve train so that you are on compression stroke too(with number one again). Secondly the best way to get help from people is not to be like super mod race engine guy who is not gonna tell his ultrs secrets. Plus with that lift it is not going to do much. I have a built datsun Lz22 and it is running a 280 dur 480 lift.
On a side note skipping any step in a step by step can never have a good outcome!!!!!!!
