Anyone ever change their clutch master cylinder?

I was planning on doing this when I took all of my mods off - as I am getting sick of the squeaking. Well, now this morning on the way to work - my clutch pedal DID NOT RETURN when I took my foot off of it!!

Damn - I am really disappointed in the quality of this car - transmission needs to be replaced, clutch cylinder is going out, something else is clicking too - hopefully its fixable.

Wish I could really afford to dump this pos.

honda wanted ~280 for the parts alone to fix the squeeking on some tsb i asked them about...they said it was the clutch slave cylinder? someone did a DIY on the fix which included just greasing it with lithium grease i think.

but the squeeking's pissing me off too and i don't have the mechanical skill to replace anything related to a transmission (nor much else for that matter).

hope all goes well for you.

at least the turbos off. Trying to get it out and on was a PIA since it was pressed up against the turbo and the bleeder was behind the compressor so I had to bleed by hand under the car by squeezing my hand up in there and take a brake fluid shower a few times.

I had both the master and the slave cylinder replaced. It's neither. Just clean up and grease where the clutch fork meets the slave cylinder. That's it. I've been having the same problems too. I've been though a whole new clutch assembly and 2 new throwout bearings and my clutch still slips. I don't think Honda is resurfacing my flywheel. Instead they accuse me of raing and will not warranty it anymore. FARKING BASTARDS!

Meh - in any case they included the slave on my new transmission I bought, so i'll just install that - no big deal to bleed the line.

Clutch master cyl. Is real easy to change. I have done a few. You just gotta remeber to bench bleed it like a brake master. If you do not do this you will have a long and hard process of getting all the bubbles out. As for your clutch still slipping you definatly need a resurface. Especially if you wore the previous clutch out, Besides its only like 50 bucks if you take it out yourself.

**** - another honda POS bites the dust!

I found out what my problem was tonight. The housing on the slave cylinder CRACKED!!@#!@$ FCKSING HONDA **** - This car SUCKS.

It completely went out on the way home. REV MATCH SHIFTING (with no clutch) SUCKS!!! After I fixed it tonight (with the spare I had on my new tranny) I took it for a test drive - heh, the second gear synchro is hosed now.

No big deal though, as the tranny is going to be replaced hopefully this weekend.
