whenever i have 4 people total in the car, i get crappy milage, mostly because i go longer before i shift. its probably because of that. i normally get 330-410 per tank, depends on if i have money to fill up or not, because i adjust my driving according to that lol.

Whats considered driving agressively?

My car has 1300miles on it and I get like 250 to a tank. Its horrible...I don't really floor it, only once in awhile. Usually I just shift at 3k. Is it probably cuz my cars are breaking in?

Yeah, the 2 civic''s I've had didn't start getting good MPG untill around 15-20,000 mile on the odometer. Then it went from around 30MPG to 38ish.

I use to get about 33 in the town at home, and up to 36-42 miles/gallon highway, then once I got to school, here in central Illinois, the gas quality dropped, on the trip home, i get 33 on the highway, and in town, i get about 24 [there are a lot more stop signs though]. It's really depressing.

Tankwise, i went from getting 370+ miles per tank to under 300 miles.

yah....im just wondering wtf is up here.....ill average 290 b4 i fill up (after using 10-11 gallons).....but i wanna know why everyone else gets much better mileage...i got near 26,000 miles on the car....any ideas as to how i can improve mileage? (and will tire pressure make a big difference, cuz mone seem a good bit low right now and have been for as while)......also, when i do actually average 290 miles per tank im driving like 110 miles on mostly highway, a good bit of city driving, and i drive mainly by myself and a bit on the aggressive side.....any ideas/comments?

hmmmmm.....i fill up at 7-11 usually and i get up to 310, which is what i had considered decent. however, one time i filled up with Shell gasoline and got like 255 miles when i had to fill up again.....any particular brands that are best for our car, and should i bother upgrading to 89 octane??

i usually use 76 or chevron. I always get in the 30's mpg with 76 gas. Don't waste money on 89, stick with 87.

Did you get more air in your tires? I hear that one PSI can increase up to 1 mile per gallon, increasing a good 10+ miles per tank per psi.
