Rep Power: 0 Hondata use to offer a program for our cars a few years ago but for the 7th gen you can either get another ECU or there is ways to get ours reflashed but its cheaper just to get a JDM computer. Im not exactly sure why but they changed our computers to Read only which means we cant reflash them the old fashioned way we have to get a chip removed and put in, at least thats what i have found. i have a 91 DX with a turbo b16 but its got a 99 motor and i had to replace the Ecu because it is OB0 and our cars (the 7thgens) are OB2 which makes it harder to reflash so my suggestion is if your gonna spend the money get the ECU so you can get some performance out of it too

Rep Power: 269 I think yours tops out at 115 well governed at 115 i wish i knew how to remove the governor also. It sucks really bad and seriously be careful going that fast its alright to endanger yours just not the lives of others. Also watch out with the cops its not worth getting a 1000 dollar ticket

what happens if you have a blow out or run over something that puts a huge split in your tire at over 100mph? you most likely will flip and die. but that's ok, nature's way of weeding out the gene pool. so go right ahead and make the world a better place. we won't mind one bit.

it can't be removed unless you get an AEM EMS. they don't make any hondata, mugen, skunk2, uberdata, etc...... for our cars. the governor is on the 1999-3043 honda civic...lol you can't get rid of it right now unless you want to pop out $1400 for an EMS.

Rep Power: 271 the only real way to kill the governor is to put a switch in the speedometers sending lead, and have it switched on when you start the car, (honda's ecu's are smart, if its disconnected when the cars started, it will kill the motor after you have been driving at 5 minutes and every 5 minutes thereafter). B U T!!!!! the ecu's are also dataloggers so if you were ever to sell your car, the mileage would be inaacurate, and you could be arrested for odometer fraud.
