how many amps should i be getting

recently i have been having problems with my lights dimming when i am on the road at night. i have checked the battery, cables, connections, other wiring, belt and cannot find the source of the problem. the alt. is producing about 70.5 amps is that about right. any suggestions!!! please help!!

how much amps are you currently draining is the question. Then you can match an alt. If you are just dimming then its only due to large spikes ur system wants. If your car is dying after playing for a while, and the car is on. Then you need a better alt.

The first path i would really take is by getting a cap. I know how much problems I have just started saying that but people are ignorant about electronics and how capasitors are not only good for providing a jolt of power, but reducing noise.
