Rsx-s mufflers
Do these sound any different at all then the stock civic muffler. I dont want a loud exhaust and i herd the rsx axel backs are pretty close to fitting. They also look pretty nice as well.
RSX Type S You can check my post and pics on the Type S exhaust i have installed in my car. The exhaust is as loud as the stock civic exhaust.
so the rsx axel back fit onto stock b-pipe? or aftermarket b-pipe? Im wondering the same, I just need to know If I need the stock b-pipe cuz I still want to use my greddy-bpipe and the stock axelback so people wont think I have exhaust especially the cops.

if you want to use your greddy b-pipe you might need to modify the flange of the muffler or the b-pipe. The flange joining the RSX Type S muffler and b-pipe are flexible type flange( the one with springs), while some aftermarket exhausts use the fixed type flange(just bolts with no springs). You can use either the greddy muffler flange or the RSX B-pipe flange to match them. All you have to do is cut one of them and well the matching flange in the other part.
Here are two pics showing the differences between the civic and the RSX Type S Tip. The tip diameter of the civic is 1.75" while the RSX S tip is 2.5", just the tip, not the whole exhaust piping. Also you can see where the stock b-pipe front flange goes for EX, DX/LX and Type S. othe than those two modifications, the exhaust fits perfectly. It sounds almost like stock, mostly because both the resonator and the muffler are bigger on the RSX as well as the piping.

Yes, the tip has to be extended, so it match the civic bumper. The RSX is a bit shorter than the civic, that's why you see a weld in the marked aea, where the RSX was and where the Civic is now. The Chrome Tip can be unbolted and relocated in the new pipe extension.

I think the one oem muffler that looks most like the rs*r is the toyota solara hard top v-6 muffler. I work at a toyota dealership and these things look just like the rs*r. I think thats what im going to end up getting.
