Engine Cleaner: Sea Foam Product actually WORKS!!!
Mods please sticky this:
This weekend, we where bored with our company car:
1993 Civic Hatch
B18c1 wiht 75k on her (integra GSR motor)
Decided to use a product that many of our customers swore by. Sea Foam Engine cleaner. The product is said to clean carbon deposits from the motor and make the engine feel like new. The product has been around since 1942 (claimed) and has been widley used by domestic guys.
Well, I thought, the internals of all motors should be somewhat similar and decided to give it a whirl.
You can get this at NAPA, Autozone, some PepBoys. $5.99 for one bottle.
Steps:
1. Take off vacuum hose connecting to intake manifold with engine off
2. Make sure engine is on closed loop (or warmed up to 175 degrees)
3. Turn on motor and use a funnel to Slowly (and i mean super slow) pour 1/3 of the Sea Foam into the intake manifold. You will see the motor sputter and start shooting out clouds of smoke.
4. have someone sit in the car and hold the revs at different intervals. We did it at 3k, 4k, and then 5k.
5. After pouring in the mixture wait 1 min and shut the car off.
6. Pour 1/3 of the bottle into the Crank case (where you add oil on top of valve cover area)
7. Pour 1/3 of bottle into gas tank (cleans injectors)
8. wait 10-15 min before starting up the car
9. Start up the car and drive it hard for about 10 min. You will see lots of white/black smoke pour out of the exhuast. Make sure you put load on the motor to get rid of all carbon deposits.
10. let car idle for 10 min (Sea Foam will drastically thin your oil so make sure not to drive more than 10-15 miles TOPS).
11. Change plugs and oil and enjoy a new feeling motor.
Results:
We got some good results with this formula. The motor ran with less shaking (solid motor mounts so its easy to tell). The idle was smoother and the car took less throttle to go through engine RPMs at load. As well, much of the hesitation was gone and overall the car runs better. its "peppier".
Give it a shot guys if you want. We approve this product in terms of use but always follow directions. We cannot be liable for misuse.

The VACUM HOSE IS the one coming off the Booster!
That is what would happen yes, they would leave the exhaust chamber run down the manifold through your catalitic where htey would burn. Dotn forget your catalytic converter is there for a reason. It doesnt just trap harmful fueme and debre, its burns them.
