SRI rubbing against hood
I just installed a short ram intake (generic brand) and it rubs a litle bit right in the middle of my hood... is there anything I can do to hold it down or keep it from rubbing?

The first engine mount on the SRI ... it's shaped like a U and the bolt that holds in into the mount slides into the U... well file the sucker so the slot in the U goes deeper.. then you can lower the SRI however much you file...
Also make sure the connection to the engine block is as snug as it can go.

ROFL ... Cool someone actually has a cheaper eBay air intake than Mine !!
I can try to take a pic... but mine broke off... so it's the same thing now..
I still have to fabricat it..
you may have to cut a 1/2 inch or so off the throttle body end.

is it rubbing right above the intake manifold?
If so, then push it down more if possible
there might still be a gap between the intake tube and the throddle body.
Push until the intake tube and the T/B touch
then retighten the clamps

there is no room to cut it off
i checked
It doesn't rub on the intake manifold, just on the hood
I'll play with it tomorrow and see what I can do

i had the same problem.. i took a hacksaw and just cut off about 1/2 an inch from where it connects to the throttle body.. i wasnt sure if it would make it too short.. it didnt.. close.. but not too short..

the two dots are where mine was rubbing.. the line is where i cut it.. the clamp now clamps about .0001 inches from the end of it..
you might also want to reapaint it.. it will pick up a deeper sound

but then i just went out and bought one that fit
Just buy this and use only the top piece unless you want the cold air intake. But then you'll suck up water, so I wouldn't use it. The top piece fits just fine, no rubbing, and its the same as an AEM intake, just no stickers...lol
