i took this pic so you can see the difference between the OE manifolds, Ex on the left, Lx on the right, that little small round part is the cat on the LX manifold, with the ex you need a B pipe to connect to the cat.

Keep your LX exhaust setup.

If you are expecting gains with aftermarket boltons, dont waste your money.

You will need the complete EX exhaust. Manifold, Down Pipe, Catalytic Converter, Cat Back Exhaust. I think someone says there's an issue with mounting it, but if I looked at the parts right, the only "problem" is mounting the down pipe/cat which any muffler shop could do that for you.

What I think I will personally do (before an EX head swap) is just the manifold, down pipe, catalytic converter and do an aftermarket cat back. That should free up some ponies on the non vtec motor and when/if you do the head swap, you will already have the ex exhaust for it. granted you won't make the same horsepower but in my dx / vp, with the little weight loss in not having power equipment, it should make for an even match or driver's race.
