spark plugs make a difference?
Hey yall
what plugs are you guys using and does it really make that much of a difference?
im trying to decide between Bosch Platinum +4 or Autolite Platinum. The price difference is huge. the bosch is $6 each and the autolites are $2.

I would recommend ngk iridium IX if you have a mostly stock car. They use less voltage than stock or regular plugs. The stock double plats are okay, but not the best.

this is not for the civic - its actually for a v6 VW passat.
i have to choose between one of those two (actually i could get champion double plats also) because I have to buy locally and thats the only ones they offer for my car.
if you had to choose between the autolite platinum at $2 and the bosch platinum +4's at $6 - which would it be?
no they dont have any NGK =(

hmmm - so you're saying champion double platinums over autolite platinums
i dunno - i thought bosch's were supposed to be really good. havent really paid much attention to brand reliability of champion or autolite

ya really with those two I haven't heard much. The regular plats won't last as long, but there's no better performance unless you step up to iridium (it uses less voltage to make the same spark). Have you looked to see if denso makes iridium for your car? They're expensive tho like $12 a plug. Check www.sparkplugs.com

well from the 3 choices then i guess the best bets are the champion double platinums. according to sparkplugs.com - the doubles are one grade up from the autolite single platinums. they also do have NGK iridiums for my car. i just cant get them cuz my tune up is scheduled for tomorrow and i dont have time to order them online. my local places only carries those 3 for my car - bosch +4, champion double plat, and autolite single plat.
