okay? anyway i got this aluminum chekered plate from a local hardware / metal store. got the measurements of the original flooring of the car like i think 27 inches by 15 i think i don't remember that clear now. so 2 pieces of alluminum checkered plates.

WARNING, the measurements here are all too short. I kinda made the wrong assumption.. but i don't know if u make it too snug... maybe it won't fit the floor and might bang into the seat adjuster or something.

i kinda bought them in a 1 big piece so had to use a jig saw for cutting. i cut it uneven also so have to do alot of filling.

then I got the measurements of the front passenger side first to see whether i can make this posible or not. anyway the measurement for the passenger side is like 27 inches and i cut off 5 inches and attach it again to the whole piece with a hinge. took me a while to file the aluminum down so taht i can put the hinges into the aluminum and not leave a gap when the hinges are in place.

this is the upper part that i made... unfortunately the top parts dont need to be cut off but i made the wrong decision by cutting them. so i attched the parts again by filling the ends and using hinges and rivets attached the cut offs again.

this is the driver side floormat with the same measurement of 27 inches lenght and 16 inches wide I think. i cut off 7 inches to swing up for the pedals and cut off the foot rest area. i thnik it's like 3.5 inches x 7 inches (footrest area)

I made the passenger side first and it looked like this.

and this is the back side of the driver side mat. i used blind rivets and i wanted to shield the rivets from scrapthing the carpet so i taped it so that it will not damage the original carpet. ( i did the same for both sides.)

I know my durections suck but hey I made it work for me it took me like 30 days to complete this since I only had like 30 minutes per week to do this project plus i kinda don't have alot of tools so had to stop working once I hit a troublesome area like the cutting off of the trunk and gas lever... took me alot of time to get it out since I lack the tools...
