2002 and 2003 gear ratios
I have a 2002 civic and my friend has a 2003 civic and both are manual transmissions. When we raced him and i were shifting at totaly different times. So is there a difference between the gear ratios ? He said the top end for his 3rd gear is 60 and mine is 90. So there has to be a difference.

Both of our cars are EX. I don't know which one is faster.
2002 has hp headers hi flow cat skunk2 exhaust aem v2 revo short throw apexi not tunned
2003 has dc sports headers hi flow cat tc sports exhaust aem v2 apexi tunned
Ran equal untill 100 then he pulled alittle. So i don't know which one is faster.

meaning, With you having the "shorter" tires, you will be 3.49% higher in your RPM range for any given MPH Vs him...
SO, If you are both driving the same MPH and hes at 5,000 RPM's that means you'll be at 5,175 RPMs.. makes sence? and the higher the RPM's the bigger the difference (thanks to it being a % rather then a fixed #)

^^^ I was thinkin the same.... is there are car in existance that tops 3rd at 60MPH? There are cars (suercars) that top 60 or close to 60 in 1st, but not likely the other way around.....
no offense but is your friend shifting at the right speeds? Even with the differences in mods and tire size, 30MPH is a big difference.
