Complete Build up with turbo question.

I have a question, everyones talking about max speed, and in the forced induction area, everyone talks about launch times and all. So i get that, if you build up the engine and turbo it and all, you can get more power, but will that give you a higher maximum speed. Like say if you build up the engine with forged internals, turbo charge it, make it run like 15 psi, replace the ecu and junk the govenor, what would be the maximum speed you might be able to get to. Considering the fastest production car does like 230 or something, i figure if we can get the vics to do about 150 or a little less than that, with decent 0-60s and 1/4 miles thatll be worth the investment.

It all depends on how much hp you have, wind resistance (drag coefficient), and the final gear ratio you are trying to achieve this speed with.....

The extra power will not allow you to attain a higher top speed unless the transmission and tires are set up for it.

bradmanuwf will become famous soon enough
at 130, the rpm's are about red line with the stock EX tranny. why would you want to go that fast anyway unless you were building a drag car. and in that case, it would be a completely custom built car, that was rear wheel drive and wouldn't have a 4 banger under the hood.I think at 150, a civic would be all over the road too. 80 mph is fast enough to get anywhere I need to go.

LakeLandCivic is right though, it all depends on the things he listed and if you have enough road to go that fast and not kill yourself!!!
