Are we still talking about the same thing here? I have never heard of coolant storing voltage.

I dont know if that issue is the same, but as you know there are several ways to check to see if your coolant is at the proper mixture by using hydrometers, refractometers, coolant test strips, but I have been tought that you can also check the coolant to see if it has an electrical charge. By doing the same test, putting the lead in the coolant and the other lead to ground, check to see if the coolant is putting out an electrical charge. If it is more then .2 volts, then it needs to be changed. Anything more usually means your coolant is starting to act like an acidic battery and can cause problems. I have never really used this method as with my car and my mom and dads car, I had purchased the hydrometer and some test strips from my school. But I also did check for an electrical charge and my moms car did produce over .2 Volts with her camry who had coolant in it for over 3 years. That article said a few milivolts, but several teachers have told me between .1 and .3 volts.
