painting rims
Has anyone painted there stock rims? im thinking about doing it but i dont want to wreck 'em if it looks crappy

I should remeber to take my Camera to School one Day,

This dude has a White SI and he painted the Rims Black.

They don't look too hot, to say the least.

Seriously if you wanna change em, get em powdercoated.

your going to paint your alloys? if you did anything, maybe powder coat them, i've never seen that done though.

Just powdercoat them. It looks better and comes out much more durable.

how much does that cost? i could just buy new rims, but i was looking for something cheap.

Boilermaker is dead on. Painted rims will look like crap quickly. Paint isn't durable enough. I'm guessing $500 or so to powdercoat 4 rims (pulling the number out of thin air).

Eastwood sells powdercoating stuff. I'd spend the money on the equipment and do it yourself. It may cost more the first time, but you have the gear on hand to powdercoat lots of stuff later.

I paid $200 CAD to sandblast and powdercoat 18's... thought it would be cheaper in the states.

i painted my stock hubbies and my friends have painted their stock s2k rims also. Bought the duplicolor rim paint from autozone and they all came out great! No chips whatsover, but that just depends on how good of a job you sand, spray, primer, etc...

i know paint would be durable enough- maybe not rattle can- but i paint cars for a living. im just wondering if it would look sh!ty or not

a friend of mine had his rims sandblasted powdercoated for $35 per rim and they look hot!!!
