screwed with auto??
ok...from what i keep reading, it seems as though an automatic transmission isnt near as good as manual, but im stuck with mine...am i hopeless as far as upgrades and stuff go ? one guy said that "auto trannys arent bulit to handle alot of power" and that made me feel kinda bad....like i have some POS. Honestly, all i plan on doing is I/H/E anyways, so maybe it dont really matter....any feedback is appreciated!!
^i think what he wants to hear is..
yes, the automatic civic is a very powerful, reliable vehicle...
but that's what he wants to hear...what he should hear is...
yea, it's a piece of ****...

I'll be nice about this since I like the creativity of your username.. this has been covered a million times, but since I know your point of view, here is your simple anwser, NO you cant make any power w/ bolt ons and such, you either turbo it, or engine swap Dezod made a turbo specifically for an auto.. if you want IHE go for it, but just note its ONLY for sound and u can lose ur low end, you might gain I believe the going response is 3-5whp or maybe 10whp tops, not sure Header might add something, but Intake/Exhaust = sound mostly..

http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...bo#post2478735 << Dezod's Turbo thread, look up info on turbos if you want to get a turbo im sure u dont wanna spend $ on an engine swap and turbos are expensive too, if you want, talk to Dezod. I dont keep up on his thread since Im not into performance engine mods, if I was i'd go w/ his turbo kit once its done or if its done now, I dunno..

Autos can be made to go fast and no the tranny wasnt built for power....but there are members on here that are running turbos on their autos and their tranny is fine
but they did add a tanny cooler that will run you about 75 - 100 bux

I spent well over $2000 and my auto makes 100whp dyno tuned. Not worth it to mod an auto. Another member with SF turbo running 8psi only made 150whp. You might as well trade in for an SI if you want those numbers.
I recommend practical mods like tranny cooler, throttle cable tightening, exterior mods for looks, that kind of thing. At least the car has good styling.

i have an auto and if i was willing to put hella money into it i would just go for looks, but thats just my opinion. of course if you turbo it you'll be faster but not fast enough to race any car you see... just my .02
well im not really here to "challenge" or race anyone. I just want exhaust that will give my car a nice roaring sound....i dont really care about backing it up with performance...i just need the exhaust....im already kinda screwed having the autmatic, so i might as well do what i can.

inside the car
outside
another outside
--- heres some clips
i dont think a catback changes hp/tq much if it does at all u wont notice it.. might gain u slight high end and take slight low end, but I dont notice much besides a more responsive gas pedal

i just got a axel back (from the rear tire back) but its up to you if you want the whole thing. i'm not sure if shmik1 has the full thing or not, pretty sure he does though. and him and i both don't see any power gains so...yeah. its not like anyone will know you have a axel back anyways...
