Any body shop can do it but honestly... it probably won't be worth the money.
The sunroof in total probably weights upto 40lbs... i say go on a diet and loose the 40lbs before you spend the $$$$$$$ to get rid of the sunroof.

take out all but the driver seat, all the carpet, all the trim, headliner, spare tire, cd player, and all the body molding you don't need.... then you can leave the sunroof in and still be faster.

edit: don't forget to take out the interior bulbs

Sunroof Removal.. done it.. $3500 labor and paint.. and to top it all off the car was 4 days old.. haha.. i used a carbon-fiber filler made custom made by Inline Four.. cost $1200.. I have a 2004 Civic Coupe EX!!!!!!!!!!

u get about 50 pounds out of the car by removing everything udon't need... door mouldings, centre console, seats, rear deck, trunk ****...

thank god i never got a sunroof...good invention, but not for cars that go on track....it weakens the structural rigidness of the vehicle...that's why race cars don't have sunroofs...for example, type-r's...never had/or will have sunroofs...

There's no point in removing it. Too much work, too expensive, and try explaining the big CF patch in the roof after that. Much riceage. But, if you go thru with it, I'll take the sunroof...I should have bought EX.

What a waste!!!

And why would anyone buy an EX or anything with a sunroof if you want to make your car seriously fast. Anybody who "needs" to take out their sunroof just to save a few pounds is crazy for buying that car.

Shoulda shaved money by:
1 Not getting sunroof
2 Not having to pay out the @ss to have it removed
3 Bought a lower model that costs less and weighs less to begin with

Why in the world would you have that done 4 DAYS after buying the car. Obviously you knew you wanted to get rid of it to begin with. Damn you could have bought a lower model. Saved that $3500 plus the price of a lower model and then done a swap IMMEDIATELY!?!?!?

Type-R's do have sunroofs but they are optional equipent which has to be specially ordered

The reason why i did it is to have a true EX and i wanted the rims and the motor - i have the sunroof lying in my garage and if u wanna buy it pm me... i shaved a total of 67.4 pounds when i removed all things linkin to the sunroof.. and when the sunroof was removed i added 1x1inch aluminum bars to add rigidity to the roof so i added 10 pounds but its still lighter than a LX and i can smoke any1's stock EX now not to mention a stock LX

wow. not smart at all. sorry but

buy an lx, save a couple grand, take the sunroof de-install money and get yourself a k series or a turbo with install. either way, you dumb as nothing else i have ever seen.

also, with an lx, if you had look around on this site, you can do a conversion to vtec using ex head.

not in canada..if u wanted a sunroof, it could be done, but honda/acura would just sent out their cars to somewhere else and some guy hacking at ur car with an axe....
besides, u wouldn't want a sunroof, weakens ur chassis

best bet would be to just trade it in for a vic with no sunroof. But just leave it, your civic will still slow.

take out the spare tire and jack.(20 lbs)
and lose 20 lbs.

you won't have to waste money then.

thats gotta be the most rediculous sh*t I've ever read.. how much do you weigh?? I mean, you can "smoke" a stock EX by losing 57.4 lbs of weight? Come on man, take out the spare and just put 2 gallons of gas in at a time ... I had the same discussion with a local EX driver where I live ... we have the EXACT same mods except he has a NX kit spraying a 75 shot and I have a Zex kit spraying a 75 shot ... He's saying that because he has the NX kit he'd smoke me ... Nevermind he has 150 pounds of ICE, and he outweighs me by like 75 lbs, and the chrome 18's he's turning ... yes, weight reduction is important but shaving 57 lbs is is barely noticable on a 1/4 mile - I bet you wouldn't even save .2 secs for that $1000-3000 ...

And you can keep your civic with it's 50lb diet. Then i'll smoke you with my camaro. LOSER

my sister spent $1500 to get a sun roof installed on her corolla S then she moved to las vegas and doesn't even use it because its too hot and she needs the AC. sun roofs are a waste of money IMO....especially trying to have them removed.
condows....lol

or you could just drive around on one gallon of gas in your tank at all times. That'll save the extra 11? gallons of gas weight.

I'm thinking about removing my driver seat and installing an aluminum lawn chair for weight reduction.

I may not even screw it into the floor.

Screws=Weight = Go slow
