what to do first??
ok...i just bought a 2001 civic EX sedan...im on quite a limited budget (i get like $200 per month out of my paychecks) and id like to start doing a few mods...nothing too big that requires tearing the engine apart...im mainly interested in things like air intakes, exhaust, flywheels, etc.....any tech minded people who have any ideas how i should go about modifying my car plz help...what should i do first? what benefits will things provide? what things will give me good boost in performance? etc... plz, nothing too extreme....perhaps stuff i can do myself.....thanx a mill
ps...please dont hate me lol...im kinda new in this game...i originally didnt intend to ever mod my car in any way, but certain things are good...like rims and such

don't spend any of that $200 into engine mods. Its simply not worth it unless you plan to go major, like any sort of F/I (turbo and/or nitrous).
spend the money on body and suspension mods if you don't plan to do some sort of F/I mod.

As said, without knowing what you plan to do with it, we cant really give any good suggestions that fit your purpose.
The driver is the most important upgrade you can make. Spend some of that money on autoX or open tracking and learn how to drive the car.
Get yourself a set of sticky tires, dont need fancy rims, but the tires are very important.

i agree with mr. modify you should drop it first! wait is your car stick? if it is then i would get with an exhaust instead of dropping it. it's alot of fun listening to your car roooar while u shift through gears...

Damn, until you mentioned the auto I was going to tell you to get a revo short shifter as a nice, cheap mod. I would say that you should save and buy suspension stuff. I regret buying a lot of little things, because now I am stuck saving up for suspension stuff when I could have already had it.

1 of the best 'bang for the buck' modification is an RSX sway bar/anti-roll bar. Other than that, save to get some good tires. With a tight budget, it can be tough to do anything major..... so for now, just enjoy it as the gas saving car that it is!
