An interesting swap question.

Does anyone know if any parts from a B17 would fit in our blocks (d17) I have a block and nothing to do with it. I figuered i would experiment with it a little. Lemme know what you guys think....also if there is even a chance of it going in i can make it fit. I dont care if it fits perfect or barely just want to see if it does

No. The only thing they have in common is the same displacement.

the letters in the engine codes (D17, B18, K20, J30, etc) stand for different familes/classes of engine. the D series is in civics (minus Si), the B series in the last gen integras and last gen si and crv, K series in new rsx/tsx/si/accord i-4, J series in oddessy, accord, etc.

most parts are swappable within a designated engine family; the cylinder heads for example between all the K series engines, regardless of the number (K20, K24) are swappable (i think...) as is the B series (B16, B18, B20).

just cause they have the same number (B17 and D17 or B20 and K20) dont mean that they are the same engine family/class/design wise, although they have the same displacement, which means very little in terms of swappability.

plus, wasnt the old B17 a DOHC setup, whereas our D17 is SOHC setup? nothin would fit....

There is no way that head can fit, as mentioned above the B series is a dohc. If the D17 is such a joke, why did u buy a Civic in the first place?

The only reason to wonder about a B series would be for the head. Why would you swap parts off of the block. The head is where the magic happens. The head is what makes a GSR stand out from a LS. You need to explain better what you are wondering about.

I wanted internals damnit...these stok rods will not perform well under high stress and the after market for b-series is much broader and more accessible. I dont care about the head really it doesnt matter that much to me

ncirom2003 will become famous soon enough
you would NOT want to put parts in and have them not be perfect ... everything in an engine has to be perfect down to .0001 inches in some cases
