Painting Springs
I'm getting some Evotion Springs for my car soon, but they're a bland biege/gold colour. So.. what I want to do is spraypaint them (please don't respond with things like "don't spray em" or "why would you wanna do that?" cuz I've pretty much made up my mind already
). Anyways, since the springs will be bending a lot, what kind of spraypaint should I use? I know there's a type out there that is a more flexible kind of paint that will have a little bit of stretch in it. Anyone know? Thanks

Yeah, I recently painted my calipers and drums with VHT paint (which looks awesome btw
) and I'm wondering if that stuff will work too. The only thing I'm really concerned with is the bending of the springs, and as a result, perhaps cracking of the paint?

I'm just wondering if anyone knew any specific brands or exactly what to look for on the cans in terms of "flex additives"

I think you'll need a primer (if you use one) with a flex agent or whatever.. Not sure if the paint w/ flex is incredibly important after that.
I think painting them would be pretty slick man.. If you have a boring colour and you can see them through your rims, go for it!

Well, they're gold.. but my calipers and drums are silver, so they don't really mix well together. My car's an SSM btw, so I think maybe red.. or just black so they don't even stand out at all. Yeah, either red to make them noticeable or black to hide the goldness.

I'm not sure if that spray paint has any flex additives in it, so it might not be the best for springs. The heat resistence is a + though..
.. and I'll definately let you guys know how it turned out

Well, I honestly don't see the point, since you can only see about 2" of the rear spring when they're installed, but I would think your best bet is krylon for plastic. Most springs have a coating on them so they don't corrode, and you're going to be painting that, not metal.

I think all that really matters is the side that contacts the ground when you put the spring on a flat surface. Maybe put some tape or post it notes over the ends? Office labels would help.

LOL, why won't you lower? The more you look at that gap each day, the more it's gonna get to you -- eventually you'll crack

I can't, the store hasn't gotten the springs yet. I don't think I'm gonna end up painting them anymore. Too much hassle for something you can't really even see anyways. Besides, if I ever get Koni Yellows, they'll match LOL
but I'll let you guys know how the ride is, and how well they perform

Pfft..
lol, you couldn't ban me. Besides, it's good to know now that if I ever wanted to paint my springs, I could. Like if I decide to paint my calipers/drums red (instead of the silver right now), I could paint my springs red as well
I'm still gonna post my drop here (and prolly in the Official Suspension Drop thread) when it's done this weekend coming up
