its hardfaced(built up with hard weld material) The reason stock regrinds wear out is because basically there is less of a circumference on the cam lobe. This means that there is less material for the cam followers to rest on with added pressure on the camlobe/camfollower friction area due to the more agressive ramp on the cam lobe. If you increase the lobe ID first rather than just cutting a whole bunch off your cam you are basically making a new cam. I think opto would be better off having a custom one made if he can though, as would the rest of us if he has good luck with his lol. I havent got to it yet but soon enough thats gunna be a priority.

I've never heard anyone complain about Crower regrinds. I think there was a member on this board that actually has one but I'm not sure if they provided any feedback? NashVegasEX has a regrind cam from crower but I don't think that he installed it as yet... However why can't we just have some patients,, why waste money and time to send your cam to be regrinded and then Crower releases their new line of cams for the d17's
. The last I spoke to Brian at Crower he said that it would take them like
3 mths to develop, test and do dyno test for the D17 cams, which happens to be like about 2 mths ago....

wanted to bring back a dead thread! .. No, my regrind from Crower did not work - valve contact ... I wish someone would find out when the actual aftermarket cam from Crower is to be released ... I would call them but Brian is kind of tired of hearing my voice/my engine builders voice/my mechanics voice after the last 2 days ...
Hello guys,
Exospeed went under some major changes with relocating our shop. We were not operating 100% the last few weeks while we got things situated. Our main reason for restructuring was to be able to do more inhouse machining and fabrication. No more relying on other shops to do our fabrication, etc. As many of you know in the business, that its hard to be the middle man in fabrication. With inhouse welding and machining, we are going to be able to control the quality and speed of the job that needs to be done. We hope that 2005 will be a great year and with more parts available from us for the 7thgen enthusiasts.

Wil,
What's the scoop on R&D? I know there is / was another thread about another member here sending a motor to you guys to do R&D on (similar to crower). Any updates / etc?? Welcome back!
We were short staffed for 2 months and we are just getting back into things the next few weeks.
The block sleeving is no problem, its all a matter of who's down to do forged pistons, etc. Someone step up so we can do the build for you. How bout a group buy on a block, we'll do the best we can to give the best price considering alot of the parts will be custom.
