wet sanding question

i didnt know where to post this so...here goes


what grit sand paper is normally used for wet sanding?

1500 or higher. They make paper for wet sanding... it won't break up when it gets wet. Here's a tip they prolly don't give you... put car wash soap in the water, it makes the paper slipperier and it cleans out the crap as you sand.

i do this as part of my job...if you are wet sanding a contour of your body make sure your passes are as long as they can be so you sand as much as you can at once (this will reduce risk of creating waves in the body. especially on the hood or deck lid cus they are flimsy) if you concentrate it in one spot to try to get something out you will make waves that you wont notice till your done and step back and see them so be gentle and take your time and if your gettin out a small imperfection go with 1500 to 2000 otherwise maybe starting out wit 1000 will make the work easy for you and dont be afraid to switch paper frequently youll have to.
