WizardAutomotive sells these on eBay. I highly recommend them. I've ordered two sets of power window kits and I've had no problems whatsoever.

Imagine if you get into an accident and they need to get you out quick. They would have to break the window (which can injure you) or use the Jaws of Life which could take away precious time all because you don't have any door handles.

Not only that^^^ but you were about to spend money on something that would actually improve the way your car handles. Now you are going to spend it on a novelty. I gotta admit, It will be cool to have your door open at the push of a button. But after a while the novelty will wear off. I guess you just have to decide what you wanna do as far as modding your car. If it's what you really wanna do then cool. Just remember to post pics so we all can see!
Some drag strips really frown on shaved door handles. If there is no way to open the door manually from the outside they can fail you at tech inspection if they chose. It does look sweet though.
Well I would have assumed you would have figured it out by reading the thread, seeing as we've been talking about being disqualified from racing and such because the door handles have been removed, and how dangerous it is in accidents to have them removed.
Crack kills... But then again... So do I...

Actually most shaved handle kits are now either coming with or offering a secondary method of opening the door as a sort of fail safe in the event that you do lose power to the car...
i have an override handle on mines which opens the door manually from the trunk..if power ever goes out on me i can open the trunk and pull the handle... soon i will be getting a backup battery to put in the trunk but thats not till way later.. as for the drag strip about not letting u run.. i have been running at the strip for months now and the tech inspectors dont say anything
maybe there is a certain et that you cant use them cause my friend did that to his firebird and they gave him crap every time about it. I guess worse comes to worse they can just bust out the glass.

expect to pay about $1,000 for a good job
I have seen many many many shaved handles, and some of the body work shows through the paint. You get what you pay for

i shaved the handles of my car..
1./ looks sweet, (mod that catch the wow factor)
2./ i will never do it again for my daily driver.
when i first shaved them it was fun.. now its just boring, having to pull the door when the car is at a ramp..

I shaved the door handles on my 78 nova,,,,,,did it myself and it's hard to get it to look right. Make sure you get a good and strong enogh sylenoid,,,, I got a cheap one and it didn't open the latch sometimes. I had an override button under the hood. I liked them when they worked. As far as drag racing, i don't see how that is a problem,,, most of the time you climb through a window or like a funnr car the whole body lifts up and that's a 4 or 5 sec car,,,,even less.

yeah, but the poppers only open it a fraction. You gotta grab the door by ur finger tips and pry it open. It is a pain in the ***.
i think ur talking about the solenoids that open the latch of the door.... when u push the button it opens the door a fraction so u have to stick ur fingers in there..
the poppers are these things that look like really short pencils that are by the latch area of the door with a spring in it... it helps push the door open about an 1.5 inches so ur not sticking ur finger in there to pull it open

if u have these and the door doesnt get pushed open then u gotta get some stronger ones...

i was referring to civic01vtec.. he said his doors only opened a fraction which is true if u didnt have poppers... but if u have it then u should be able to just reach with ur whole hand and pull it open... not just ur finertips

It all depends on what kind of door poppers you get. And just like any aftermarket thing, it's going to have it's up and downs. Mine work great and open the door a pretty good ways. After a while the wire will kind of get loose and won't open it as wide as before. I'll have to tighten it a little so that it'll open more again. But it's just one of those things that you deal with with aftermarket stuff. Don't expect to shave your door handles off, install your door poppers and never have to deal with it again.
lets get it right.. or at least try too... SOLENOIDS are the ones that have the cable which attches to the latch to pop the doors which in turn pushes the door out enough to reach ur hands in and pull the door open.. plus it also depends if ur on a hill and which way ur car is inclined to determine how much it opens... now POPPERS (pictured above) ave little pencil like things with a spring in it... some are adjustable... that mountes between the frame of the door and frame of the car.. usually where the little black rubber spring sensor thing is that tells u when the door is open...it usually pushes the door between 1 to 2 inches or more open.. depending which type u get.. .. get it got it good..
like i said earlier...i dont know if it was here or someplace else.. but i have an emergency cable in the trunk that pops the driver door... my trunk still has the keyhole so if i ever need to be then i can just pop the trunk and open the door
