Arrow Question about Automatic Transmission Fluid Change?

First I was wondering if anyone Knows what to torque the tranny bolt too when putting it back on? Also do you have to use Honda tranny fluid? Can I use royal purple tranny fluid? And one last question, when I remove the bolt, is it necessary to buy another one, or just reuse the old bolt? I know I always buy a new bolt and washer when changing the oil, just was wondering about the tranny fluid. Also how much is the tranny fluid from honda?

What I am thinking is buying 3 quarts of Synthetic royal purple and then 7 6 quarts of honda fluid and drain it 2 times with honda fluid then using royal purple fluid at the end.

honda fluid...

Pretty sure you have to use Honda ATF for the auto tranny, the tranny will shift like poo with other stuff, but for manuals I think you could use something like Redline MTL...just my 2 cents...

I have a manual, but with my experience on draining/refilling a few other people's autos, the synthetic didn't make a difference. Maybe for high heat, racing conditions, but if its a daily driver I couldn't justify the cost. If it were me, I'd just flush with Honda's ATF, but more often.

Of course you can. Then again, you could also use 10-30 motor oil but its missing the additives. See if you feel any difference.

Whatever you use, the key is to change it often, NOT at 100,000 miles. I change my oils/fluids every 20k, except engine oil, of course.

Ok well here is my next question, when I change it is it necessary to buy another bolt, or just reuse the old one. I ask because I always buy a new bolt when changing the oil, thought doing this one too. And also do you fill the new fluid through the dipstick hole.

Tranny bolt torque is 36lbf-ft, and use a new crush washer. Yes, it is filled through the dipstick hole. (closes service manual)

So I dont need to replace the bolt, just the washer. When I take the bolt off, the washer will be under it just like the engine drain bolt. I know I am asking a stupid question, but I have never drained the tranny fluid before.
